This is a warning about dealing with the website www.laptopusan.com and the contact Alice Lin ( laptopusan@gmail.com, laptopusan@hotmail.com & laptopusan@yahoo.com.cn). This website is a scam site and Alice Lin is not to be trusted. You will send your money and never receive any goods. Just trying to help. If a post like this existed before I purchased then I would have saved myself some cash.

I’m just typing this in the hope that it gets picked up nice and early by Google.

This website – www.laptopusan.com is a scam site.

The people running it are criminals.

The contact person “Alice Lin” is not to be trusted.

These are her email addresses: laptopusan@gmail.com, laptopusan@hotmail.com & laptopusan@yahoo.com.cn

The contact from this company is quite reasonable, though once you have paid via Bank Deposit it is all over

Shipping delay

Incorrect tracking number on shipment

The site seems ok. It looks legitimate’ish and a typical Chinese wholesale site. (I have bought numerous things from similar sites previously)

I did my research before purchasing and I couldn’t find any posts like this warning about dealing with this company. I always knew it was going to be a risk, though I thought it was worth it.

The contact details and bank account number of the receipt in China are as follows (again, mostly for Google search)

Deng Xiao Yan

Bank of China – Shenzhen

Swift Code: BKCHCHBJXXX

Account Number: 476693801881469142

I was attempting to purchase a camera lens. Whilst it isn’t a lot of money, I was not going to just sit here and let it slide.

BE WARNED – NEVER DEAL WITH WWW.LAPTOPUSAN.COM

** Bank of China’s official standpoint is that they don’t interfere with the dealings of their account holders unless instructed by the police.

I haven’t tried contacting the China Police, it will probably be a waste of time, however if there is a small chance that these scammers get caught then I might give it a shot.

Once again, “Alice Lin” is not to be trusted and her contact details are: laptopusan@gmail.com, laptopusan@hotmail.com & laptopusan@yahoo.com.cn

I’m happy to discuss any of this with anyone who might be interested or who has had similar dealings with these people before.

This morning saw the much anticipated announcement of Apple’s latest iteration of their iPhone franchise. iPhone 4 definitely looks the part. 10mm thin, 4x screen resolution to that of the 3GS, sleek aluminium finish, 5MP camera with digital zoom and flash (No, not Adobe), front facing camera, 720p HD video with legitimate editing capabilities….. add to this the new iPhone OS with multitasking and folders and I think Apple has sent a clear message to all of the would-be contenders to their #1 position in the smartphone market – “We’re not going anywhere”

Android phones have all been made to look second rate overnight. Back to the drawing board for all of those Google and HTC boffins.

Obviously in Australia, their isn’t the ‘AT&T is rubbish’ issue, so really there shouldn’t be anything in the way of this phone being a total success for Apple in our market.

I’m not sure that I’ll be lining up overnight like for my iPad, but hey I can’t see any problems with picking it up in week 1.

So you must have been living under a rock for the last month or so if you haven’t heard about the global financial crisis that is destined to destroy the world as we all know it. Well it might be getting out of control in the USA, but on home shores here in Australia we have no need to panic at the moment.

The Australian economy is more intrinsically linked to Asian markets these days, and whilst we still have exposure to the lending crisis that is threatening to throw the USA into a recession, or even a depression we don’t have to worry about losing our jobs yet.

The best advice is not to panic. Don’t start shifting your Superannuation investments in haste. We all know Super is a long term investment and as such will be subject to many peaks and troughs along the way. If you are approaching retirement, your super should already be in more conservative structures anyway, and if you’re young then your investments will have plenty of time to rebound and recover to still show good returns over the long time.

Reckless spending is something else also to keep in check. Now is a great time to honestly look at your spending and make sure that you are living well within your means. Our banks and lenders will be tighter with the way they hand out money. Finance will be even more difficult to come across so don’t get in over your head. Tighten the belt a little bit, pay off credit card debts and get on top of things.

For risk takers, now might be a good time for some smart investments in the markets. Most analysts predict that some form of a bailout package in the USA will be approved in the coming week which will have a flow on effect across world markets. Get some financial advice and try and identify the market sectors that have been unjustly undervalued over the last couple of weeks and you might just find a niche to exploit and get some good returns when the market inevitably corrects itself. The risk is that it is hard to tell when this correction will occur and have we bottomed out, or is there more pain to come. My gut feeling is there is money to be made for those willing to take a calculated risk. Just don’t expect a guaranteed return – you could just as easily lose your cash.

Anways, again that was a bit all over the place, but hopefully in some shape or form it makes a little sense.
